The Student Design Charrette at the HEALTHCARE DESIGN.08 conference in Washington, DC, brought together students from Clemson University, Arizona State University, McGill University, and Virginia Tech to creatively address a design problem.

Sponsored by Steris, a provider of infection and contamination prevention products and services, the student design charrette gives students an opportunity to not only creatively engage with their peers, but also receive feedback from professionals in the industry.

Each taking a unique approach to the design challenge, the student teams brainstormed day and night during the conference in November, 2008, to provide solutions for the delivery of mobile medical services in disaster situations and areas of conflict.
