FD-Group Adds Four Members to Senior Management Team

(8/7/2008)
Posted by: John Oberlin, Online Editor

FD-Group, a design-build firm that handles interior design and construction projects, has augmented its senior management team with four new members. Bill Stewart was hired as chief financial officer (CFO), Sharon Chapman recently joined the company as construction manager, Jack Parlo was promoted to chief operating officer (COO), and Heather Moore was promoted to director of interior design.

Stewart comes to FD-Group after 14 years at the Atlanta National Golf Club, most recently as vice-president and CFO. Previously, he was a staff auditor and a manager for eight years at Arthur Andersen, LLP, in Atlanta. A graduate of Duke University Stewart has a bachelor of science in accounting and has earned his CPA.

Chapman, FD-Group’s construction manager, joined the company in February 2008. Chapman came from Gold’s Gym/The Burris Corporation where she spent nine years in a variety of capacities, including director of operations and project coordinator. She also managed numerous build-outs and renovations, handled property/facility/building management, and coordinated details with many vendors and maintenance teams.

As a 36-year veteran of the construction industry, Parlo has been a key contributor to the growth at FD-Group, where he has been director of operations for three years. Previously, he was vice-president of sales for 13 years for Matthews Parlo Carpets, a nationwide flooring distributor; he also spent 10 years running his own heavy road construction business—Vinen Corporation.  In addition, Parlo was a senior vice-president for 13 years at Mancrete, Inc., a manufacturer of industrial pipe.

Moore, a 2004 graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta with her bachelor of fine arts in interior design, began her career at Purchasing Partners, a prominent hospitality design-build firm in Atlanta, and has been an interior designer at FD-Group for two and a half years. Currently pursuing her National Council for Interior Design Qualification certification, and an allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Moore now manages the interiors division at FD-Group.

FD-Group, which originated in 1997 distributing carpet, lockers, and other interior hospitality items, now is a project manager for projects from architecture to interior design to construction. The design-build firm specializes in health club and fitness center design and construction management from concept to completion for any size facility in commercial, corporate, and hospitality settings.
