Completed within a tight 14-month schedule, Brooksville Regional Hospital is an 186,000-sq.-ft., three-story facility with 91 patient rooms designed for patient-focused care. The owner’s goal was to provide an acute care facility featuring advanced healthcare technologies and services to a rapidly growing rural community.

With a focus on patient-centered care, the hospital’s welcoming environment incorporates natural lighting and interiors that include light wood, warm ceramic tile, comfortable furnishings, and original artwork by local artists. The contemporary exterior is faced with white stucco and blue/green glass that reflects the surrounding tropical Florida landscape.

The front entrance canopy, resembling an airport drop-off, was designed to create multiple, decentralized entries that are easily identifiable. As a result of this design concept, patient registration, information, and primary outpatient, inpatient, and emergency services are immediately accessible. Colocation of clinical diagnostic and treatment services improves patient flow and turnaround time for emergency care and ambulatory patients.

Open floor plans designed for effortless wayfinding help patients easily navigate the main corridor of the facility, and a patient-staff walkway enables them to locate key services, which include: cardiology, respiratory, rehabilitative care, women’s health and pediatrics, diagnostic imaging, a clinical pathology lab, and nutritional counseling.

Designed for future vertical and horizontal expansions with minimal disruption to existing operations, Brooksville Regional Hospital brings an expanded level of healthcare services to its community in a caring environment.
