Emerald Expositions, publisher of Healthcare Design and Environments for Aging, is pleased to announce the 2017 Product Innovation Awards. This annual program recognizes product manufacturers offering the most innovative and unique products serving the healthcare industry. All participating companies will receive exposure in the May 2017 issue of Healthcare Design, with some receiving special recognition.

Who is eligible to submit? Manufacturers of products used in the design of healthcare environments.
Eligible Categories include: Art/Décor; Bath/Shower Systems; Communications Systems and Technology; Fabrics/Textiles; Flooring; Furniture; Lighting; Medical Equipment; Signage/Wayfinding; Surfaces; Window Treatments; and other appropriate healthcare design-related products.
What are the submission requirements? Participants will receive a PowerPoint template and instructions to prepare their presentations. Each entry will include images, product description, and responses to the jury’s questions (including why the product is innovative). Jurors will evaluate products based on their contribution to the quality of care; functionality; environmental sustainability; quality of construction; aesthetics and style; and value.
Does the product have to be new? And can it be a product proto-type? Products introduced to the healthcare industry within the last 3 years (March 2014 to present) are eligible. Proto-types or products that are not currently being sold are not eligible for this program.
How does a product win an award? Jurors, appointed by Healthcare Design, will review and narrow down all products to a list of finalists (the top scoring products). The top 3 products among the finalist group will be named Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners and receive a full page in the Product Innovation Awards section of the May 2017 issue of Healthcare Design, to highlight portions of their submission.
Who is on the jury? Healthcare Design will invite a variety of industry professionals to serve on this jury. Jurors will include architects, designers, providers, facility managers, and consultants.
What if my product does not win an award? All participants will receive a 1/6 page ad, designed by us, in a Product Gallery which follows the program award winners in the May 2017 issue. Product must be the same as the product submitted for the award.
Is there a cost to enter a product? And what if I want to enter more than one product? Cost for the first submission is $835. You may submit more than one product, and each additional product is $500. This price includes the following:
- Product Entry in the 2017 Product Innovation Awards
- A 1/6 page advertisement of the product in the May 2017 issue of Healthcare Design. (Includes one image, 50 words of promotional copy, and company phone number and website.)
- Print and online exposure of your product through our print and digital publication formats.
