Gilbane Building Co. Welcomes New Senior Director of Business Development

Gilbane Building Company’s San Diego, CA, office welcomes Paul Baio, a 15-year strategic business management veteran specializing in business development for the public and private sector. Baio will lead the Western Region’s new business efforts in the Southern California District as Senior Director of Business Development.  

  

Baio will develop the company’s presence in healthcare, higher education, K-12, and the private commercial sectors.

 

In his previous role as a Director of Business Development with Ledcor Construction, a general contracting firm, Baio was responsible for leading efforts to secure new construction contracts within the San Diego market. He has worked with some of the area’s premier clients, including General Atomics, H.G. Fenton, Children’s Hospital, University of California San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene University and San Diego State University. Prior to Ledcor Construction, Baio served in various business development roles for Swinerton, Inc., and McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. where he worked with owners of commercial construction projects to facilitate project delivery and ensure goals were achieved.

 

Baio received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing / Advertising from Pace University of New York. He is actively engaged in National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Downtown San Diego Partnerships, Urban Land Institute, Construction Management Association of America and Design-Build Industry Association.
