Forrest Health’s latest construction project at the Forrest General Cancer Center, located in Hattiesburg, Miss., involves renovating the first floor of the Cancer Center to expand Outpatient Clinical Solutions (OPACS). In addition to the expansion, a new waiting area and lobby will be constructed. The project will take more than a year to complete.

OPACS is an outpatient infusion and chemotherapy unit providing chemotherapy, infusion therapy, blood transfusion, vascular access device management, ambulatory pump home infusions, team consults and lab monitoring. OPACS is currently housed at the Cancer Center and staffed with an on-site pharmacist and specially trained nurses.

Forrest Health also plans to construction a Healing Garden, which will be adjacent to the Cancer Center.
