Healthcare architect Susana Andrade Erpestad, AIA, ACHA, NCARB, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C, has returned to HDR as a healthcare principal in the firm’s Washington, D.C., architecture studio. In her new role, Erpestad will be focused on client engagement and will spearhead growth and development. Additionally, she will participate in the studio’s leadership group to help shape and implement overall firm strategies. Erpestad has spent the past 13 years of her 18-year career working on more than 25 million square feet of healthcare projects in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Prior to practicing in the U.S., she spent five years working as an architect in South America. She has extensive experience in healthcare architecture on domestic private, federal, and international healthcare projects, full-service specialty hospitals, master planning, and ambulatory and outpatient care settings.
