JLL (Chicago) recently announced that George Mills will transition from his current role as director of the department of engineering at The Joint Commission to a new position as director of healthcare technical operations at JLL.

Mills will join JLL in October to lead the healthcare technical operations platform, and will oversee teams focused on quality and compliance, plant operations and facility management, safety, supply chain management, healthcare project and development services, energy and sustainability.

Throughout Mills’ 32-year career in the healthcare industry, he has worked to make patient environments safer and healthier. He is considered an expert in the field of hospital operations, including knowledge of CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and TJC (The Joint Commission) regulations; technical competence in EHS (Electronic Healthcare Systems) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and health Administration) requirements; and has a thorough understanding of the financial, operational and regulatory challenges faced by hospitals today.

He is a Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (FASHE), a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP).
