Global architecture and design firm, Stantec, has hired Eduardo Egea, AIA, to help lead the healthcare practice in Florida.

From Stantec’s Miami office, Egea will help Stantec continue to expand its healthcare strategy and design capabilities in Florida, the Gulf Region and beyond. He and his team are currently working on several renovation and expansion projects at Aventura Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Palms West Hospital and Plantation General.

Egea has more than 23 years of experience as a healthcare managing principal at architecture firms, with clients throughout the U.S., the Caribbean and South America. He has directed more than 7 million square feet of design projects working with numerous healthcare providers including the Master Plan for Hospital Santa Catarina in Sao Paulo, Brazil; the Guaynabo City Hospital in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico; the System wide Master Plan for RedSalud-PUC in Santiago, Chile; Cathedral Hill Medical Center in San Francisco, Calif.; the SB1953 Rebuilt Master Plan for the San Francisco General Hospital; Woodwinds Health Campus in Woodbury, Minn.; plus other projects in Panama, Peru, Argentina and Trinidad and Tobago.

He is a registered architect in Florida and Puerto Rico, a member of the Colegio de Arquitectos and Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico, the AIA-Academy of Architecture for Health, and is certified by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB).
