Sutter Health has filed plans to expand Sutter Davis Hospital, Davis, Calif. At an estimated cost of $51.8 million, construction plans call for a 27,782-square-foot one-story building addition that will include space for a birthing center and emergency department. There will be three rooms for labor and delivery, four for postpartum, and two for C-sections. The emergency department will have 11 treatment rooms and five triage rooms. The project also includes renovations to the existing emergency room and birthing units, adding five medical-surgical patient beds for adults who are either acutely ill or recovering from surgery.
