The Remodel/Renovation competition, in its second year, was open to ALL readers including architects, interior designers, and facilities wishing to highlight their latest projects, Submissions were accepted under two categories: Emergency Department or Respite Area, which included indoor spaces such as atriums, chapels, meditation areas, and water features, and outdoor spaces such as courtyards, therapeutic/healing gardens, landscaped grounds, front porches, entry gardens, plazas, roof gardens and roof terraces.
A panel of experts appointed by the Center for Health Design reviewed and evaluated all submissions and narrowed the projects down to the Top 5 in each category. Projects were then posted online at www.hcdmagazine.com for reader voting and comments. The projects with the most reader votes have been named “Best in Category” and will be published, along with the four runners-up, in our December 2011 issue of HEALTHCARE DESIGN.
Awards will be presented at our HEALTHCARE DESIGN.11 conference in Nashville this November.
