Louis and Phyllis Friedman Neurological Rehabilitation Center at Sinai - Baltimore, MD

This 28-bed inpatient rehabilitation center provides recovery treatment for brain injury, stroke, and other neurological disorders. Along with private rooms and an extensive state-of-the-art rehab gym, the unit features “Greater Heights”, a recreated small town center that simulates a community setting and enables patients to become independent once again. This “Streetscape” includes a replicated ATM, grocery store, bus stop, street light with sidewalk curb and crosswalk, as well as residential mail boxes.

Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital - Worcester, MA

This 320-bed continuing care public psychiatric hospital melds state-of-the-art therapeutic programs and environment such that the building itself is an integral part of a patient’s treatment and recovery. Familiar elements (house, neighborhood, and downtown) are arranged to reflect the range of environments in which people live.

The Christ Hospital (TCH) in Cincinnati, OH is a 555-bed acute care hospital, recognized as the leader in adult care in Greater Cincinnati, and ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the country. At 1.5 million square feet, the institution was outgrowing its Mt. Auburn campus. The team developed a master plan that identifies growth needs; prioritizes sites for future expansion; aligns the campus to create the best patient, physician and staff experience; and differentiates TCH in the marketplace.

Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children - Birmingham, AL

Children’s Health System of Alabama (CHS) is a major children’s hospital within the medical district of Birmingham. The new expansion, Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children (BRHFC), would be primarily inpatient and would include emergency, surgery and imaging departments. The expansion required the need for clear way-finding to negotiate the various CHS facilities – parking structures, inpatient and outpatient facilities.

The Lunder Building is a high-tech, flexible structure that commemorates the bicentennial of Massachusetts General Hospital and advances it into a third century of providing care. The 535,000-square-foot facility houses procedural programs, 150 inpatient beds, and new emergency and radiation oncology departments.

University of Kansas Hospital Authority, Medical Office Building - Kansas City, KS

Accommodating 400,000 clinic visits a year, the Medical Office Building provides a complete range of ancillary testing and care to ambulatory adult and pediatric patients in a convenient, comfortable environment. The six-story building houses 10 outpatient specialty clinics and provides consolidated office space for more than 200 ambulatory-care physicians and 200 residents previously dispersed throughout the medical center’s campus.

University of Arkansas Epley Center for Health Professions - Fayetteville, AR

The university intended to create a new home for the School of Nursing and the Hearing and Speech clinic, and had identified the old Student Health Clinic building and site as the location for the project. Although the two programs were aggregated as “health professions”, they really had very different requirements.
