Creating a LEED Healthcare Facility from Groundbreaking to Completion

This webinar will discuss the collaborative team effort between the owner, designers and contractors that resulted in achievement of LEED-CI v2.0 Gold certification for Sutter Health.

 At the end of the program, participants will understand the implications and the impact of material selection on the building occupants.  In addition, the participants will gain a better understanding of the performance of materials, from the installation, durability, maintenance requirements, and environmental impact .

About the Speaker(s):

Tom Minard

Sutter Health

Tom is a Senior Project Manager for Sutter Health System since 1999. He has worked in Construction and Facilities management since beginning his career in 1979. Tom has over 32 years of hospital construction and Facilities management experience.  Prior to working for Sutter Health Tom worked for The Sisters of Saint Joseph Health System.

Tom is currently managing the new hospital project for Sutter Health in Santa Rosa Ca. This is a Greenfield site for the new hospital; which is a 84 Bed, 196,000 square foot, two story acute care hospital. The new hospital will be silver LEED certified. Project cost is $290,000,000

Tom has managed hundreds of hospital acute care OSHPD construction projects as well as all types of healthcare projects in the non-acute setting. Tom is well versed in Lean Construction management processes. He has managed the construction of Sutters first Gold Leed certified outpatient surgery center.
