Public sculptures

The placement of public art in communities has been an essential part of our historic makeup. It allows people a place to stop and think about something outside of their daily worries, a place to escape, a place to bring awareness, a place to be inspired, a place to gather, a place to find comfort, or just the right distraction to get the mind moving in another direction. DeDecker Sculpture takes the mission of creating the right element to enhance its surroundings seriously. To forge an alliance with the viewer is the most important component when creating these sculptures.

Bird and branch landscapes

Metal’s ageless appeal and vibrant hot process patinas give Jon Michael Route’s new fabricated wall pieces a very current design presence. Warm and tranquil, they are suitable for healthcare, corporate, or institutional environments. Three-dimensional elements are set on layered landscapes or patchwork fields of rich surface textures, patterns, and colors. They are custom made to match color schemes and size requirements, have varying themes from natural to architectural, and are easily hung. Commissions and site-specific projects are welcomed.

Nature photography for healthcare settings

Placing “healing photo art” in healthcare facilities around the world to bring color and warmth to patients and caregivers is the mission of Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals. The nonprofit foundation offers an extensive portfolio of nature photographs ranging from tropical beaches to Japanese cherry blossoms to the Tuscan hills, donated by the founder and noted photographer, Elaine Poggi, as well as other contributing artists. This allows for an affordable option to hospitals with a limited budget.

High-efficiency LED light panel4

The new Vertical Visions product is a three-quarter-inch thin, flat LED light panel. Its advantages include fitting into an existing ceiling tile grid and that it’s lightweight to hang like a framed picture with no fluorescent tubes or ballast. This durable, highly efficient, and long-lasting unit (minimum rated 50,000 hours) requires extremely low energy usage. It needs only a 110 plug-in outlet. Multipanel megascene installations can plug into a single extension cord or powerbar. The LEDs deliver extremely even light distribution. Use your own image or choose from hundreds of stock photography choices.

Changeable signage system

DMR Sign Systems introduces EXPLORE, one of three new sign systems: EXPLORE, FORMULATE, and INVENT. Daylighting and fluorescent dimming control

Lutron’s EcoSystem daylight harvesting and fluorescent dimming provides an affordable way to maximize occupant comfort and energy savings. The digital addressable ballasts offer reliable dimming from 100 to 1% and balance input from sensors and controls to maximize energy savings. Therapeutic fluorescent light cover

Skypanels capture the essence of nature while creating an illusion of being under real skies and other natural therapeutic settings. Skypanels are custom-designed, decorative, translucent panels that fit into standard fluorescent ceiling fixtures and replace the dull, brittle, plastic stock diffusers found in most commercial offices, hospitals, schools, and homes. Skypanels have been attributed to reducing tension and headaches by providing relief from the harsh glare of traditional overhead diffuser lighting. By creating a feeling of being outdoors, Skypanels users sited elevated moods, feelings of calmness, as well as an increased overall sense of wellbeing, as compared to those who worked under traditional light diffusers.

Hospital-wide art program6

Distinctive Art Source helped Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center realize an art program for their Women & Children’s Hospital that not only involved the community but also reflected their faith-based ministry. A rotating art gallery displaying up to 15 images in horizontal or vertical formats greets visitors as they enter the hospital. The first showing was created by children of hospital employees. The staff will rotate the displayed artwork seasonally. HBMC wanted art throughout the hospital to support and reflect their faith-based ministry. In the Well Baby Nursery, as well as in the NICU, images of newborns, both preemie and full term, were overlaid with scripture verses to convey hope, love and support.
