A new website dedicated to helping facility managers and architects gain better knowledge about the medical technology requirements of healthcare facilities has recently been launched by the ECRI Institute. There will be articles, links, and technology experts available among many other resources.

The rapidly advancing world of healthcare technology is one that cannot be underestimated. Within the length of time it takes to design, build, and equip a healthcare facility the technologies and devices can become obsolete in as little time as a year or less. It’s becoming more complex and healthcare facilities are looking for the expertise that will deliver the latest technology on the tightened budgets.

To this end, ECRI Institute announced recently that it has launched a new website dedicated to helping facility managers and architects gain better knowledge about the medical technology requirements of healthcare facilities. Designing and planning appropriate spaces that take into account the needs of the patient and staff, the healthcare organization, and the construction team needs a solid understanding of the parameters.

ECRI states that the site will provide technology advice; patient and staff safety issues; construction and design impact; procurement and budgeting; and white papers for further education.

The healthcare design and construction resource center will also offer customized support from ECRI’s consultants.

It is certainly an area of the healthcare industry that needs expert data to make sure that the delivery of care is effective, safe, and up-to-date.
