Goryeb Children’s Center at Morristown Memorial Hospital is designed to house numerous pediatric specialists in one centralized location. This new facility provides physicians and patients a place where medical services are delivered in a contemporary family-focused environment that is pleasant, comfortable and as stress-free as possible. From the beginning of the design process, family focus was a key element desired by the Morristown Administrative Team.

Positive distractions include an enclosed garden view from each patient room in observation and in endoscopic procedure rooms. Waiting rooms designed as park-like settings are featured in the specialty clinic areas. The corridors leading to the clinics are designed to resemble street environments, complete with stripes in the pavement, intersections, and shops and stores along the way.

The facility contains 26 inpatient beds in a mixture of private and semiprivate rooms. All rooms are oversized to accommodate families and feature built-in beds and recliners. Videos and video games are available to each child, as well as access to the Children’s Activity Center. The facility also includes a family “great room” with separate overnight sleeping rooms for parents
