Crest Healthcare Supply introduces Remote Call-IR™, the new resident-friendly, combined TV remote control and call cord. This innovative nurse-call device features large TV control buttons that allow residents to easily control the TV power, channel, and volume. The nurse-call button is distinctive both visually and tactilely. Remote Call-IR eliminates many of the extra buttons included on universal remotes that can confuse and frustrate residents and can be programmed for use with multiple brands of TVs like a universal remote.

Housekeeping communication system


Jeron Electronic Systems, Inc., has designed a new Housekeeping/Room Ready feature to be used in conjunction with its Provider® 680 Nurse Call system. The new feature aims to improve communication in healthcare facilities and subsequently, bed management. A unique system that informs housekeeping staff when a room is in need of cleaning and the administrator upon having been cleaned, the Housekeeping station ensures that rooms are attended to promptly and are filled quickly. This streamlined process allows facilities to utilize their staff and rooms more efficiently, resulting in improved bed turnover and a better patient experience.

Staff-to-staff comunication


AATEL Communications, Inc., and Rauland-Borg have released the Responder 5 staff-to-staff, staff-to-patient nurse-call system. The Responder 5 Open Architectural Interface (OAI) was created to simplify Healthcare integration. Responder integrates over a VoIP Network, providing wired or wireless integration to SIP-compatible devices and other systems such as alarm management, patient protection, telemetry, and many more. The push of one button within a unit can notify environmental services to clean the room and notify staff that a patient is being transferred from one unit to another.

Wireless communication system


RF Technologies introduces Code Alert® Integrated Care Management (ICM), a wireless call and communication solution. Code Alert ICM operates on a single platform that integrates wireless call and life safety devices, and notifies staff of an e-call, an event, and associated responses via two-way communications, including voice-to-voice capability. Using the new Version 6.0 software suite, data generated by Code Alert ICM, Code Alert Wandering Management, and Code Alert Advanced 3-Way, care fall, incontinence, and turning schedule management can be recorded and reported on combined reports.

Firestop pathway

Electro-magnetic locks


Häfele now offers low-voltage, electro-magnetic and electro-mechanical locking systems for furniture solutions. EFL15 is a radial lock designed as a compact, high-load locking mechanism. EFL25 is an In-line that is a very thin lock designed for high-cycle applications where space is limited. It uses two jaws and a sliding lock to capture and hold an inserted lock bolt. Both the EDFL15 and EFL25 can open under side-load pressure. EFL21 is a lock bar actuator. It is designed to attach over a recessed lock bar for wood cabinets and for securing multiple drawers with one controlled locking device.
