Emerald Expositions, publisher of Healthcare Design and Environments for Aging, is pleased to announce the 2018 Healthcare Design Product Innovation Awards. This annual program recognizes product manufacturers offering the most innovative and unique products used in the design of healthcare environments.  All participating companies will be recognized in the May 2018 issue of Healthcare Design, with some receiving special coverage.

Who is eligible to submit? Manufacturers of healthcare design products – including furniture, lighting, technology, flooring, surfaces, and other design products.

What are the submission requirements? Participants will receive a PowerPoint template and instructions to prepare their presentations. Each entry must include images, a product description, and responses to the jury’s questions (including why the product is innovative). Jurors will evaluate products based on their contribution to the quality of care, functionality, environmental sustainability, quality of construction, aesthetics and style, and value.

Does the product have to be new? Can it be a product prototype? Products introduced to the healthcare industry within the last three years (March 2015 to present) are eligible. Prototypes or products not currently being sold are not eligible for this program.

How does a product win an award? Jurors, appointed by Healthcare Design, will review submissions to determine the top-scoring products. The top three products among those finalists will be named Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners and receive a full page in the Product Innovation Awards section of the May 2018 issue of Healthcare Design.

Who is on the jury? Healthcare Design will invite a variety of industry professionals to serve on this jury, including architects, interior designers, healthcare providers, facility managers, and consultants.

What if my product does not win an award? All participants will receive a 1/6-page ad, designed by us, in a Product Gallery in the May 2018 issue of Healthcare Design. Products featured must be the same as those submitted for the competition.

Is there a cost to enter a product? And what if I want to enter more than one product?

Cost for the first submission is $860. You may submit more than one product, and each additional product is $500. This price includes the following:

  • Entry in the 2018 Product Innovation Awards
  • A 1/6-page advertisement of the product in the May 2018 issue of Healthcare Design. (Includes one image, 50 words of promotional copy, and company phone number and website.)
