Construction is complete on the new Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital & Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion in Charleston, S.C.

Integrating children’s care with obstetrical services, the 625,000-square-foot hospital and pavilion include an 11-story bed tower, six-story diagnostic and treatment building, and will house approximately 250 patient beds.

It is the state’s only Level IV neonatal intensive care unit and includes a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit, a large labor and delivery unit, a special care nursery, advanced maternal fetal care center and specialized children’s emergency services.

The structure was built to meet the region’s seismic zone conditions and designed to meet hurricane force wind requirements by Perkins+Will. The construction management team is Robins & Morton, Cumming, and Brownstone Construction.
