Menninger Clinic (Houston) has broken ground on a new facility to address the growing demand for mental health services in the community.

The 33,000-square-foot Menninger Clinic Outpatient Services Center will be located on the operator’s main hospital campus in Houston and comprise 14 outpatient consultation rooms, an observation/children’s playroom, three small meeting rooms, a patient lounge, and a large group room for support group meetings.

The two-story building’s first floor will be devoted to patient services, such as behavioral, mental health, brain simulation, and sleep medicine, and a research department. Dedicated treatment rooms for sleep medicine consultations and treatment, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and ketamine infusion therapies will also be included. The second floor will provide 15,000 square feet of future expansion space.

The project team includes Kirksey Architecture (architecture and design; Houston) and Tellepsen Builders (construction; Houston). The clinic is slated to open in spring 2022.
