UPMC Pinnacle began operations for its new UPMC Memorial Hospital in York, Pa., which replaces the existing hospital in the city’s downtown. An article by Roxana Baiceanu in Commercial Property Executive confirms that the 130-bed property is part of a larger campus that will also include a 140,000-square-foot ambulatory care center by the end of September.

“The architectural and interior designs of both buildings bear the signature of Stantec, which has Megan Holmes as principal-in-charge and managing leader of the architecture and design group,” writes Baiceanu. “Situated on more than 100 acres, the building includes three heart catheterization labs, four operating rooms, an emergency department with 28 treatment rooms, a critical care unit with 14 beds, as well as multiple nursing stations. The design is inspired from the region’s local quarries featuring precast panels on the building’s exterior with limestone and metal accents.”
