The Phelps County Regional Medical Center (PCRMC) Delbert Day Cancer Institute, completed by McCarthy Building Cos., opened its doors to patients January 9. The $31.3 million, 37,000-square-foot facility is located on the first two levels of the new, four-story, 100,470-square-foot building constructed by McCarthy. Located in Rolla, Mo., it will now allow PCRMC to serve an additional 520 patients each year.

All cancer care services, including designated areas for radiation, oncology, medical oncology, laboratory and imaging services, an infusion room, physician offices and areas for a community conference center, retail space and cafe, are housed under one roof.

The Institute is named after Dr. Delbert Day, curators’ professor emeritus of ceramic engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Mo. BSA LifeStructures designed the building.
