Gresham, Smith and Partners has announced that the firm was recently awarded three healthcare architecture and interior design projects: Shanghai Lanhai Rehab Hospital, Nantong People’s Hospital and ZhengZhou Mei’er Hospital Campus. The firm was selected for each project through international design competitions.

GS&P will serve as the architect and interior designer for Shanghai Lanhai Rehab Hospital, located on the Shanghai New Hongqiao Medical Campus. The specialty rehabilitation hospital project consists of around 215,000 square feet and 200 beds. The Lanhai Rehab Hospital will connect to the Shared Services Facility that recently completed construction on the campus. The 947,806-square-foot, eight-story support facility designed by GS&P houses resources such as logistical, clinical and public support services for the campus’ hospitals and specialty clinics, including the rehab facility.

Nantong People’s Hospital will be the first hospital to be built on the planned Nantong Central Innovation Center international medical campus. Phase one of Nantong People’s Hospital comprises around 4.5 million square feet and 2,600 beds, focused on cardiovascular and neuro services, and houses academic and education research, clinics and infectious disease services.

ZhengZhou Mei’er Hospital Campus, planned for China’s Henan province, is a two-phase project consisting of approximately 3.2 million total square feet. Phase one will include the development of an international hospital, a women and children’s center, a plastic surgery center, an EENT center and outpatient clinics which together will comprise nearly 946,000 square feet.
