HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, located in Effingham, Ill., recently announced that the third phase of construction for the new HSHS St. Anthony’s Health Center will begin immediately. The Health Center will be connected to the current Effingham Medical Center.

The Health Center will provide better ambulatory services by moving outpatient services that are best delivered in an accessible setting off the main hospital campus.

In addition to constructing a north parking lot and entrance in preparation for the new Health Center, a second phase of construction included infrastructure and life safety improvements to the Effingham Medical Center, such as a new fire alarm system and enclosing the center’s open stairway to improve the fire safety of the building. The second phase also included aesthetic changes of new flooring, new lighting, and painting the interior to make preparations to match the planned look of the new Health Center before its construction.

When complete, the Health Center allows St. Anthony’s to relocate several hospital outpatient services that are located within blocks of each other, to one centralized location and provide residents easy access to Convenient Care; Diagnostic Imaging, including X-ray, CT, and our Open MRI; Women’s Wellness Center with 3D Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy and Boutique; Laboratory Specimen Collection.

In addition, part of St. Anthony’s Health Center will have office space available for physicians’ offices.
