A new children’s hospital will be constructed adjacent to Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden.

NCC was commissioned to build the hospital by property manager Västfastigheter. The hospital is an extension of Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital, which is part of Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The older premises will also be refurbished and linked to the new hospital.

The project will house rehabilitation, intensive care, nursing wards, and administration, a press release states. Patient rooms will be private and provide room for family to spend the night.

Full occupancy is expected by 2020.

NCC and Västfastigheter will run the project in collaboration, with the first phases including preparing the organization, project planning, construction documents, and pricing of the project. The value is estimated at approximately SEK 850 million ($98.5 million).
