According to “The State-Journal Register,” Pana Community Hospital, located in Pana, Ill., has begun a $20.1 million renovation and expansion, the hospital’s first since the 1970s. A groundbreaking ceremony took place today.

The renovation and expansion will include a two-story, 30,000-square-foot addition with a basement that will house a new laboratory, surgical suite, cafeteria and kitchen. Also new will be three urgent care rooms.

Farnsworth Group serves as designer. Springfield, Ill.-based O’Shea Builders serves as general contractor.
