According to Alabama.com, UAB Hospital, located in Birmingham, Ala., is opening the Whitaker Clinic, which was a $10.8 million renovation of the second and third floors of the John N. Whitaker Building. The project also added 28,600 square feet of clinical space. The facility, which now offers 80 exam rooms, will house primary care, dermatology, podiatry and rheumatology. All clinics will be open September 11.

Doster Construction Company (Birmingham, Ala.) served as general contractor on the project; Gresham, Smith and Partners (Nashville, Tenn.) as architect; and DeKalb Office (Atlanta) was hired for interior furnishings.
