Chesterfield Royal Hospital recently opened its NGS Macmillan Unit in Derbyshire, England. The approximately $13 million project consolidates fragmented cancer services into a purpose-built cancer treatment unit integrated with pastoral care

Designed by The Manser Practice, the hospital’s existing offer of on-site cancer services was transformed into a purpose-built cancer unit, improving the fragmented layout of treatment facilities and integrating pastoral care with an onsite Macmillan Information and Support Centre.

The new two-level NGS Macmillan Unit includes 21 treatment chairs, two treatment beds and three treatment rooms for chemotherapy. Services including haematology, oncology, acute oncology service, chemotherapy, selected medical day case activity, palliative care, and respiratory clinics.
