Architecture, engineering and planning firm SmithGroupJJR has promoted Shary Adams, Mark Erath and Naomi Kruger to principal at its Washington, DC office.

Shary Adams, AIA, ACHA, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C, has nearly 30 years of architectural experience, specializing in the design and planning for large health care systems across the U.S. and abroad. As a member of the Health Studio at the Washington, DC office, she is currently serving as lead medical planner on the nearly 1.5 million-square- foot, six-story Manazel Medical City, a comprehensive medical center located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Mark Erath, CPA, CPHQ, FACHE, FHFMA, serves as the health strategist for SmithGroupJJR’s Health Practice, supporting the firm’s studios nationwide. Drawing on past service as a consultant and health system chief financial officer, Erath has more than 35 years of strategic planning, finance, operations and performance improvement experience, solving complex challenges for healthcare organizations throughout the U.S.

Naomi Kruger, IIDA, LEED AP BD+C, NCIDQ, is a healthcare interior designer whose expertise lies in new product development and patient experience improvement. Recent projects include the $160 million Lakeland Medical Center Pavilion integrated project expansion and renovation, St. Joseph, Mich., set to complete in 2020; and the 237,000-square- foot, 93-bed Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, Germantown, Md.
