Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta started work on a master plan for its new major pediatric medical campus in Brookhaven, Ga., and has selected project partners.

The approximately 1.3 billion North Druid Hills Campus, spanning more than 70 acres, will include a replacement hospital for the Egleston hospital, the Center for Advanced Pediatrics, support staff offices, acres of greenspace, water features, and miles of trails.

HGOR is working on landscape design and assisting on the master plan and the lead architect is HKS Inc. Other partners on the hospital and overall master plan include Walter P. Moore & Associates (structural engineer); WSP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineer); Kimley-Horn (off-site traffic and infrastructure engineer); Lowe Engineers (on-site civil engineer); Covalus (medical equipment planner); EDI Ltd. (information systems and technologyconsultant); and Synergent (supply chain and materials management flow planner).

Brasfield & Gorrie is currently serving as construction manager (CM) of the Center for Advanced Pediatrics project in progress. In addition, the contractor will also serve as CM for replacement hospital. For the support office building, tvsdesign is the lead architect for the building core and shell; Hendrick Inc. is the interior architect; and DaVinci-Winstead Group is the overall project manager. J.E. Dunn will serve as the CM for the support building in addition to having a key role on the master plan development, where the contractor will serve as the CM of the medical office building adjoining to the new hospital, central utility plant, parking decks, and for site improvements for the new campus.

The 348,000-square-foot support building is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020 and the new campus will be complete in 2025.
