Beijing Proton Medical Center Begins Construction
The proton treatment building of the Beijing Proton Medical Center has officially started construction. The Beijing Proton Medical Center is an independent proton radiotherapy institution established by Concord Medical Services Holdings Limited, a specialty hospital management solution provider and operator of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging centers in China, and China-Japan Friendship Hospital. It will have an independent legal personality approved by the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People's Republic of China (formerly the Ministry of Health).
After completion, it will be among the first batch of clinical dedicated proton centers with a formal configuration license. In addition, the installation of the IBA Proton Therapy System is expected to start in January 2018. The installation of the first treatment room will be completed in the first quarter of 2019, and will be open for operation. In the first quarter of 2020, four treatment rooms are slated to be open for operation.
